What Are “No Win, No Fee” Lawyers?

If you have sustained an injury in an accident that was caused by the negligence of another person, you may be wondering what’s next. Do you need to hire a personal injury lawyer in order to hold the at-fault party accountable for your losses? If so, how much will competent legal services cost?

Fortunately, it is common practice for personal injury lawyers to operate on a no win, no fee basis, which offers a measure of financial security to clients who have already suffered both economic and non-economic losses. You should not need to take major financial risks in order to be represented by an experienced and qualified lawyer.

What Does “No Win, No Fee” Mean?

“No win, no fee” means that a client only pays their personal injury lawyer if their claim is successful. This payment is called a contingency fee, and it is an agreed-upon percentage of the money that a client ultimately recovers. If no money is recovered, the client will not be required to pay the lawyer for services rendered. In this model, you will sign a conditional fee agreement with your lawyer at the outset of pursuing your claim.

Other legal costs beyond the contingency fee are usually covered by the at-fault party’s insurance provider when the injury claim is successful.

Is FVF a No Win, No Fee Firm?

Yes. At FVF, we understand that many of our clients have already suffered financial losses. Personal injury victims do not always have the resources to hire us without certainty that they will receive compensation for their efforts and sacrifices. Nor is it fair for a person whose life has been disrupted by the carelessness of another to be financially burdened in order to exercise their legal rights. For that reason, and due to our confidence in our expertise, we charge on a no win, no fee basis. A lack of financial resources should never stand in the way of a fair and equitable case outcome.
